I've been toying with the idea of moving out of my parents house later this year. Many people will tell you I have officially lost whatever last grip on my sanity I had. However, I think it would be an amazing kick in the ass for me and would force me to get my act together.
Yesterday I spent the day with my friend Mary in her apartment in downtown Los Angeles. It. Was. AMAZING. It made me realize how much I can do if I actually tried, like she does. Which is why I feel like pulling the rug from under my feet and doing something stupid like moving out when I'm not ready. I'm very much the type of guy that has to do things in drastic ways to get to where I want to be. [/moving on]
P.S. OMG! I can't wait to [hopefully] catch a midnight screening of Indiana Jones the night before it opens, wee!
Oh, and here's a random picture i took during filming of my "( ^_^)/ やぁ!" video:

Ah yes...
DO IT. It's so worth it. Trust me. The first month or so will be filled with mixed emotions about if you were ready or not, feeling lonely, feeling on top of the world, feeling N00bish , feeling independent, feeling sick etc.
But trust me. It's so worth it. Like you said...well typed, you just gotta do it.
best thing i ever did.
when you do it and are successful at it for a while then you start to feel like you can do anything on your own.
it's definitely one of those things you have to jump into. i left at 19.
some advice though: if it gets too crazy. don't be afraid to move back. it's not a step backwards if it's the best choice for the situation. word.
i moved out of my parents and then had to move back. i say if you can do it - do it.. its so awesome to have a place of your own. it really brings a sense of confidence.. like, 'wow i'm in control of this'. however, if you're honestly not ready (money wise and such) then maybe its better to at least get on track so you can move out.
my boyfriend wasn't ready when we moved out and he wound up living off credit cards causing him to go into mega debt (thus one of the reasons i had to move back with the'rents) we're finally going to be able to move out again soon.. just a tip :)
Honestly I'm not sure how long or if and how and blah I'll be able to stay in munich... BUT knowing that I can move back to my dad, and move out from there again, is a good feeling. Give it a try!!
And get a dumb roommate so we can exchange stories about our pain. PLEASE?
Robot, Hon... For the love of Nature move out of Mom and Dad's place. I'm 32 and have owned my own house for nearly two years! Though my lawn is neglected, I have the freedom to do whatever I want.
Like never mow my lawn.
